Hannah and Jonathan got married at Bartle Hall near Preston, a beautiful venue with lovely gardens. They had chosen a colour scheme for the wedding of dusky pink mixed with ivory and hints of dusky lilac. For their flowers they wanted a romantic and elegant look, Hannah wanted to include roses and freesia especially in her bouquet. To compliment these I also suggested using bouvardia, lisianthus, hydrangea and limonium within the floral arrangements.

Hannah chose a large, hand tied style bouquet with a mix of flowers to create a more textured design. The flowers included Cool Water, Memory Lane and Avalanche Roses arranged with Freesia, pale pink Bouvardia, Lisianthus and Limonium.

The bridesmaids bouquets had a similar mix of dusky pink wedding flowers with hints of lilac and ivory. The colours worked beautifully with the dusky pastel shades of their dresses.

The Groom and Groomsmen each had a single ivory rose buttonhole with a hint of variegated greenery.

Wedding ceremony flower arrangements

For the ceremony decorations I designed two large arrangements, displayed in urns on either side of the ceremony table. The arrangements included beautiful white delphinium along with pale pink hydrangea, roses and limonuim.

On the ceremony table we placed a long and low arrangement of soft pink and ivory flowers, including roses, freesia, delphinium and bouvardia. This arrangement was then moved to the top table to be used as decoration for the wedding breakfast.

Floral crowns are a beautiful wedding hair accessory, especially if you are looking for a whimsical or bohemian hairstyle. As an alternative to more formal, glamorous head pieces and traditional veils, floral crowns are perfect and can be designed to match your wedding bouquet or in neutral tones to co-ordinate with your dress.

Whether you prefer a more subtle headdress with a few delicate roses or a dramatic design, full of large romantic blooms, the flower crowns can be designed to suit your own style, using fresh or silk flowers.

It’s lovely to have the opportunity to collaborate with other wedding suppliers on exciting projects and I was very fortunate to be asked by Jan Clarke to provide flowers for two different features in the Spring/ Summer edition of Pure Weddings Magazine.

Wedding ideas at Tabley House

Wedding ideas at Tabley House

The first was a glamorous 1950’s monochrome styled shoot with hints of blush pink to create a slightly softer look, more suitable for a summer wedding. The shoot took place at the gorgeous Tabley House in Knutsford, with beautiful photography by Caroline White.

I created a hand tied bouquet of Sweet Avalanche Roses with black satin ribbon detail and a diamante brooch on the binding.

The lovely Danielle & Stephen got married at St. Mary’s Church in Sale yesterday, and had their wedding reception at Mottram Hall in Cheshire.

Mottram hall wedding flowers

Mottram Hall is a beautiful Cheshire wedding venue, the St. Andrew’s Suite is a lovely neutral room for wedding receptions, with subtle and elegant decor.

Their colour scheme for the wedding was white and silver with hints of pale lilac. Danielle wanted a neat hand tied of ivory roses for her bouquet, with sparkly diamante details. I used a beautiful floral, diamante piece set over the rose heads which swept across one side of the bouquet. Then on the binding of the bouquet I attached a lavish diamante brooch.

The bridesmaids were wearing dusky lilac dresses, so to compliment their dress colour we decided to add some delicate lilac freesia, lisianthus and stocks to their bouquets. The pale lilac flowers worked beautifully with the ivory roses, and to add a hint of sparkle in their bouquets Danielle had asked for some diamante to be placed in a few of the rose heads.

The Groom’s buttonhole was a large ivory rose with silver wire detail and simple greenery, designed to co-ordinate with the bridal bouquet. The groomsmen were each given a smaller ivory rose with a hint of lilac lisianthus and greenery.

Their mums were each given a delicate corsage of small ivory roses and dendrobium orchids with diamante detail.

For the reception decorations we provided tall martini vases with hanging glass globes for the guest tables, each featuring an elegant white flower arrangement. The vases were displayed on mirrors decorated with crystals.

On the top table we displayed a selection of silver glass votives with tea lights, and vases filled with clusters of white wedding flowers, including roses and hydrangea. As well as small martini vases with large blooms and crystal tea light holders. To dress the front of the table we provided organza swags and bows.

At the entrance to the St. Andrew’s Suite Danielle had asked for a pair of table plan trees to display their table cards. Each tree was dressed with crystals, hearts and glass globes with roses. We also provided our vintage, birdcage post box which was placed on the gift table for their wedding cards.

Jemma’s bridal bouquet was a hand tied design including roses, ranunculus and lisianthus in ivory and blush pink, the stems were part bound with a delicate ivory lace ribbon.

The bridesmaids each had a hand tied bouquet of gypsophila (baby’s breath). The flower girl was given a mini bouquet of gypsophila and a delicate hair circlet to wear.

The groom’s buttonhole was a blush pink Sweet Avalanche rose to match the blush pink in the bride’s bouquet.

The groomsmen were given a cluster of gypsophila (baby’s breath) for their buttonholes, which co-ordinated with the bridesmaids’ bouquets.

They decided to source beautiful vintage china cups and saucers for wedding favours to give to their guests. We placed flowers in each of the tea cup place settings, each had either a ranunculus, tulip or rose head with a small cluster of gypsophila.

The reception flowers were to have more varieties of flowers than the bouquets, and using a mix of pastel shades. The vintage wedding flowers we chose included blush pink roses, lilac stocks, dusky pink lisianthus, lemon narcissi, clematis, gypsophila and pale pink tulips.

The shoot took place at Styal Lodge Wedding Venue in Cheshire, one of my favourite wedding venues! I knew it would be perfect for our theme of Metallic wedding ideas, with two different colour schemes of white & silver, and cream & gold. The neutral decor and natural wood created a lovely backdrop for both styles. We also managed to brave the weather for a few shots in the gardens. Lucy Greenhill, the photographer for the shoot did a fantastic job of looking at how to use different areas within the venue and around the grounds to reflect the two different styles.

As we had three beautiful models involved, and to be able to showcase a variety of products and styles we decided on two different ‘looks’ within the theme. The first had a natural, romantic feel in cream and gold, accessorized with lace and pearls.

We were spoilt for choice with the gorgeous gowns, veils and hair accessories Nicole from Pearl Bridal Boutique had provided for the shoot. Nicole collaborated with hair and make up artist Jennie Freedland to style the models perfectly for each setting.

I created a variety of fresh and silk bouquets for the shoot, as well as designing two table settings. The romantic, gold table featured a natural centrepiece with beautiful blossom branches, which matched with the stunning ivory and gold wedding cake from the Cheshire Cat Cake Company. Francesca also made co-ordinating cupcakes and macarons with gold leaf detail.

Laurel Weddings have an exciting new collaboration with the Cheshire Cat Cake Company providing luxury, wedding dessert tables which include a beautiful wedding cake, a selection of sweets and tasty treats. We designed the dessert table to co-ordinate with the second metallic ‘look’ which was styled in white and silver creating an elegant and glamorous feel, with crystals and diamante details to add a hint of sparkle.

pale pink rose

Katie and Richard had their wedding ceremony and reception at Manchester Town Hall. They didn’t have a particular colour scheme in mind for the wedding but Katie had some great ideas about the style of bouquets and arrangements she liked and the types of flowers they wanted to incorporate.

Hand tied, textured bouquet

Hand tied, textured bouquet

Katie wanted a mixed, hand tied bouquet with lots of different textures and an unusual colour combination, which worked beautifully. We looked at lots of different flower types and narrowed it down to a mix of blush pink roses, green hypericum berries, white double tulips, burnt orange carthamus and navy blue eryngium. The stems were part bound with a navy blue satin ribbon.

Eucalyptus greenery and navy ribbon binding

For the buttonholes they asked for clusters of gypsophila, with a navy blue ribbon binding. The groom’s buttonhole also had navy eryngium thistle arranged with the cluster of gypsophila.

In the ceremony room at Manchester Town Hall we displayed two ring arrangements of gypsophila with glass hurricane vases on the ceremony table.

For the reception decorations at their Manchester Town Hall wedding Katie wanted table centrepieces of gypsophila. We decided on a low centrepiece design with wreath rings of gypsophila and hurricane vases with pillar candles.

As they had a round table for their head table, rather than a traditional long top table, we thought it would be nice to have their centrepiece a little bit different. We decided to keep the same design, but have the floral arrangement in the style of Katie’s bouquet. We included a little bit of gypsophila with the mix of Sweet Avalanche roses, carthamus, eryngium, ranunculus, tulips, hypericum berries and eucalyptus foliage.

]]> A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure of creating wedding flowers and decorations for the lovely Alison & Tony. Not only did I get to make lots of lovely arrangements for them but we were also invited to attend the wedding day. It was a fantastic day and we wish them both every happiness in their life together.

West tower wedding

Alison & Tony got married at the beautiful West Tower wedding venue in Aughton, Lancashire on Valentine’s Day. They wanted an elegant and romantic feel with red roses mixed into the bouquets and arrangements, teamed with burgundy, pink and ivory flowers.

For Alison’s bouquet I created a teardrop shape of red and pink roses, pink lisianthus, orchids and double tulips with delicate greenery.

The bridesmaids were wearing burgundy dresses so we decided to use more burgundy and deep pink flowers in Alison’s bouquet and then the bridesmaids had more of the lighter shades and some ivory flowers. For their bouquets we used a mix of roses, double tulips and carnations.

Their younger child bridesmaids were each given a silk ivory rose to carry, decorated with pearls, pink wire detail and ribbons.

For the groom’s buttonhole we used a deep raspberry ‘Amalia’ rose with subtle wire and pearl detail. The groomsmen were given a single ivory carnation with simple greenery.

The wedding ceremony flowers included artificial flower garlands with mixed roses to decorate the staircase and silver glass vases arranged on the ceremony table. Each vase was filled with clusters of fresh flowers, including roses, tulips and lisianthus, with red rose petals scattered along the table. The vases of flowers were then used on the top table during the wedding reception.

For the wedding reception we dressed each guest table with our silver candelabra, decorated with crystal garlands and a silk flower arrangement with mixed artificial roses. These were displayed on large table mirrors with scattered silk petals.

On the top table we displayed a mix of silver glass vases filled with clusters of flowers and silver candle stands with ivory pillar candles. We also provided vases to display the bride’s bouquet and the adult bridesmaids flowers on the top table for extra decoration.
