Hand tied bouquet of roses, carnations and gypsophila

Emma & Tom got married at St. Cuthbert’s Church and had their wedding reception at Rookery Hall in Cheshire.

The style for the wedding was romantic and elegant with vintage accessories. Their colour scheme for the flowers and decorations was ivory, blush pink and pale peach.

Emma’s hand tied bouquet was a delicate, textured mix of Avalanche and Sweet Avalanche roses, Cream gracia spray roses, gypsophila and carnations. I love the subtle pink flecks in the carnation, the colour blends so well with the blush pink roses.

The bridesmaids had smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, which co-ordinated beautifully with their peach dresses.

Emma & Tom decided they would like to have carnation buttonholes with a hint of gypsophila, the groom having a peach one and groomsmen with ivory.

At the church we dressed the pew ends with tied clusters of gypsophila and placed a low arrangement on the signing table which they could take with them to use at the reception afterwards.

For the reception decorations we decided to have a mix of low and tall vase arrangements to create more interest in the room. Each guest table had a selection of vintage china cups filled with clusters of flowers arranged around the base of the main centrepiece.

A few kind words from Emma about their wedding flowers –

“I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful wedding flowers. The day wouldn’t have been the same without them- they provided a lovely back drop to our special day and everybody was so impressed by them.”

Thank you Emma & Tom for choosing me to provide the flowers for your wedding day and also for sending the beautiful photographs by Dan Maudsley from their wedding day.

It was an absolute pleasure to create all the gorgeous arrangements for this wedding and working with my lovely friends Jan & Mary Lou.

The colour scheme for the wedding was white and cream with hints of pale blue. For the bride’s bouquet I created a hand tied design with white freesia, cream roses and pale blue hydrangea. The bridesmaids had a similar, smaller bouquet in white and cream.

At the church entrance we dressed the railings with foliage and placed arrangements on each side. Inside the church we decorated the front and back pew ends with floral arrangements and placed a pedestal arrangement near the altar.

At the marquee we placed lanterns and rose plants along the walkway, leading to large urn arrangements displayed at the entrance. Within the bar area they had large plinth arrangements displayed with the table plan and next to the gift table, along with a selection of small arrangements and rose plants to decorate the bar tables.

In the main reception area we created a mix of low and tall designs, and for extra wow factor they decided to have three of the tall arrangements slightly larger and decorated with hanging silver tealight holders. Each arrangement contained a lovely mix of white wedding flowers including roses, hydrangea and lisianthus. The vases were displayed on a large mirror and had a selection of tealights, votives filled with flowers and pillar candles arranged around the base.

]]> Sophie and Ariel got married at Samlesbury Hall, a beautiful Lancashire wedding venue and the perfect setting for their autumnal wedding flowers and decorations. Sophie wore a stunning lace wedding dress and wanted hints of vintage styling mixed with autumnal tones and textures to suit the season and the wedding venue.

At the entrance we provided a pair of bay trees dressed with hessian bows and a selection of gourds arranged around the base.

Sophie wanted a hand tied bouquet with lots of different textures and flowers to suit their autumn theme. I designed a bouquet of roses, rudbeckia seed heads, oak leaves, chrysanthemum, hypericum berries and bupleurum.

On their top table I arranged a selection of twisted willow branches dressed with fairy lights and placed three low arrangements displayed on vintage silver glass stands.

To add variety and create more interest in the room we decided to have a mix of tall and low table arrangements. Sophie particularly wanted some candle light so we placed tall silver candelabra on half of the tables and low urns on the other half. Each display featured a natural arrangement in autumnal colours to match the bridal bouquet.

Sophie did a fantastic job of making her own wedding cake and asked if I could design a small cluster of flowers to decorate the top. We also provided our vintage silver cake stand to display the cake on, which co-ordinated beautifully with the candelabra and vintage stands.

Their colour scheme for the flowers and decorations was peach, coral and zesty lime green.

Jennifer’s beautiful wedding bouquet was a teardrop shape adorned with crystals and pearls. She had a vibrant mix of coral roses, peach roses, aster, lime chrysanthemums, orchids and freesia.

The bridesmaid bouquet was a similar mix of flowers to the bridal bouquet, but designed in a hand tied posy style.

The Groom’s buttonhole was a single Peach Avalanche rose with a small pale green lisianthus flower and thlaspi greenery. The groomsmen were each given a single coral rose with simple greenery for their buttonholes.

As they had a large number of guest tables for their wedding reception Jennifer & Baqer wanted to find a more decorative way of presenting the table plan cards than the traditional framed design, and that would also be more spread out making it easier for guests to find where they were sitting. I suggested a selection of potted rose plants in colours to co-ordinate with their theme. Each plant had a table card with the list of guests seated on that table, the plants could then be given out to guests at the end of the reception.

As well as a pair of bay trees displayed at the entrance to the suite we also provided a large tree display in the entrance area. The tree was dress with hanging roses, crystals and a floral garland of peach and coral roses, orange asclepia, mint carnations, lime green chrysanthemum and ivory spray roses.

In the ceremony room we displayed several tall arrangements on plinths which were then moved on to guest tables for during the wedding breakfast. We also provided an ivory aisle runner with scattered petals and a selection of small vases arranged on the ceremony table. The lime, peach and coral wedding flowers in the arrangements co-ordinated with those used in the bridal bouquet.

I have a gorgeous bridal fashion shoot to share with you, which was featured in the latest issue of Pure Weddings Magazine. The ‘Modern Fairytale’ shoot was styled by Jan Clarke and took place at the Halle St. Peter’s in Manchester, a fabulous Manchester wedding venue.

Jan invited a group of amazing suppliers to be involved including the lovely and super talented Lucy Greenhill Photography and Neil Redfern Photography, hair and make up stylists Flossy and Leigh, along with gorgeous accessories from Eleventh Heaven by Ann McKaveney. The beautiful dresses were provided by Love Bridal Boutique, accompanied by stunning wintery cloaks from Jean Jackson Couture. It was a pleasure to be involved in the project and create unique bridal bouquets to reflect the ‘Modern Fairytale’ theme.

For the shoot I designed two different bouquets, the first was an elegant teardrop bouquet of gypsophila. I love the simplicity of this design, creating a soft and ethereal look.

The second bouquet was a more modern style with stunning white phalaenopsis and dendrobium orchids and trailing crystals. This bouquet has a more sophisticated and glamorous feel.

Hannah and Jonathan got married at Bartle Hall near Preston, a beautiful venue with lovely gardens. They had chosen a colour scheme for the wedding of dusky pink mixed with ivory and hints of dusky lilac. For their flowers they wanted a romantic and elegant look, Hannah wanted to include roses and freesia especially in her bouquet. To compliment these I also suggested using bouvardia, lisianthus, hydrangea and limonium within the floral arrangements.

Hannah chose a large, hand tied style bouquet with a mix of flowers to create a more textured design. The flowers included Cool Water, Memory Lane and Avalanche Roses arranged with Freesia, pale pink Bouvardia, Lisianthus and Limonium.

For the ceremony decorations I designed two large arrangements, displayed in urns on either side of the ceremony table. The arrangements included beautiful white delphinium along with pale pink hydrangea, roses and limonuim.

On the ceremony table we placed a long and low arrangement of soft pink and ivory flowers, including roses, freesia, delphinium and bouvardia. This arrangement was then moved to the top table to be used as decoration for the wedding breakfast.
