If you have picked July for your wedding and you have your sights set on a pretty country garden theme, then I have just the wedding on the blog today. This real wedding should give you plenty of inspiration for flowers, bouquets and floral wedding venue décor. Our lovely friends Michelle and Matty, chose the beautiful West Tower as the venue for their special day. West Tower is dedicated entirely to weddings and is a romantic hideaway set amid the rolling Lancashire countryside.
This is a venue full of elegance and heritage yet with a contemporary style making it perfect for today’s brides. It’s neutral colour palette means you can create exactly the look you want to achieve for your own wedding. For summer weddings, like Michelle and Matty’s, the magnificent windows in the ballroom create a stunning light and airy space and the manicured gardens are perfect for drinks on the lawn or even an outdoor ceremony.
Michelle and Matty knew from our very first consultation the pretty summer garden look they wanted to create at West Tower wedding venue for their special day. Their chosen colour scheme of blush pink, pale pink, mauve and sage worked perfectly with this theme. Taking the lead from Michelle’s dress from Timeless bride, a feminine, fitted dress with a gorgeous lace overlay, we set to work designing her bridal bouquet. Michelle wanted a hand tied style with soft trailing ribbons. I incorporated a mix of delicate Vendella & Faith roses and blush pink lisianthus combined with beautiful Memory Lane mauve roses, sedum and candy pink bouvardia. The inclusion of pittosporum and soft green eucalyptus complimented the overall colour scheme.
Michelle’s six bridesmaids looked fabulous in a mixture of blush, mauve and sage dresses and carried small posies of cream and ivory roses mixed with the eucalyptus and again finished with soft pastel trailing ribbons.
On the day, myself and my team at Laurel weddings set about turning Michelle and Matty’s vision into reality. Starting with the ceremony we installed a ‘garden inspired’ arch of ivory metal work, full of faux roses in shades of blush and pale pink and finished with greenery. Lanterns and candles were laid all along the aisle and plinths on either side of the arch and ceremony table were laid with candelabras together with tree design arrangements, again all full of gorgeous pastel wedding flowers, greenery and trailing ivy.
For the wedding breakfast, guests were delighted by the ballroom once we had decked this in roses, gorgeous hydrangeas and lisianthus including a luxury top table arrangement which ran the full length of the table. Using a selection of styles for the table centrepieces from tall candelabras and whimsical tree designs, mixed with lower arrangements and shabby chic lanterns with candles the room had a magical mid- summer feel.
We also got to work with their super talented wedding photographer Teresa C Photography. There are so many gorgeous photographs from their wedding day and I’m so pleased to be able to share them with you.
