If you are looking for inspiration for your wedding colour scheme I have a stunning navy blue and blush pink Samlesbury Hall wedding to share with you. This colour combination can work at any time of the year and create a classic, romantic look for your wedding day.
Helen and Sean had an elegant winter wedding at Samlesbury Hall, a gorgeous Lancashire wedding venue. The stunning black and white, medieval building is set in beautiful woodland grounds, offering plenty of backdrops for your wedding photos.
I would like to say a massive thank you to the incredibly talented Rachel Joyce Photography for sending me these beautiful photographs from their wedding.
Helen had a clear idea of the style of bouquet she wanted for the wedding, and we discussed using a variety of flower types to create the unstructured, flowing design she liked. The bridal bouquet included White O’hara garden roses, freesia, ranunculus and lilac, along with eryngium thistle to add a hint of navy and trailing greenery.
The bridesmaids each carried a similar, smaller design but we incorporated more blush pink to match with their pink shawls. The bouquets were finished with natural silk and satin ribbon trails.
The decorations for their wedding ceremony included candelabra arrangements displayed on plinths at the entrance and on either side of the ceremony table. The candelabra with fresh flower arrangements were then used as table centrepieces for the reception. Glass hurricane vases with ivory LED pillar candles were placed along the aisle and two small arrangements were used to decorate the ceremony table.
To create a romantic backdrop for their ceremony and reception we designed a large foliage heart decorated with clusters of flowers, which was hung on the wall behind the ceremony table and then the top table for the reception.
The reception room at Samlesbury Hall has a dramatic wrought iron chandelier which can be left plain or decorated with garlands of greenery and flowers. There is a large fireplace which can also be decorated if you want to add more details in the room.
Helen & Sean decided to have a mix of high and low table centrepieces, both incorporating candles for their wedding reception flowers. The candelabra arrangements from the ceremony decor were displayed on half of the tables and the others featured a hurricane vase with a wreath arrangement around the base. To see more examples of table centrepiece designs and other reception flowers please take a look at our gallery.
The top table was decorated with three floral arrangements, one main arrangement in the centre and two smaller arrangements placed at either end. For extra candle light and to match with the guest tables we added a selection of candles and tea lights in between the arrangements.
To bring in the navy blue to the reception decor they chose navy blue swags across the front of the top table with navy and lace tails at each end. The chairs were also dressed to match with a double navy and lace sash. The swags and chair decor was provided by Simply Bows and Chair Covers Lancashire.
