The Pantone colour of the year for 2016 has been announced and it’s a romantic pastel colour blend of pale pink Rose Quartz and Serenity, a dusky light blue. This colour combination is a beautiful wedding colour scheme for any season but especially for the summer with all the gorgeous pastel flower varieties that are available. Take a look below at some ideas for how to work these colours into your own wedding flowers and decor.
You don’t necessarily need to include both colours within the bouquets, you might want to consider the bridesmaids wearing Serenity pale blue dresses and they can each be given a blush pink bouquet. Or if you prefer the bridesmaids to wear the Rose Quartz dresses then consider choosing dusty pale blue and ivory bouquets for them to hold.
For the mens’ buttonholes you could perhaps have a larger design for the groom, featuring a blush pink rose with a cluster of dusty pale blue hydrangea or single delphinium flowers head and finished with eucalyptus foliage. Then just a single blush pink rose for the groomsmen, and possibly a Serenity blue tie or cravat.
When planning your ceremony and reception flowers you could look at either having a mix of both pastel shades in the arrangements or possibly just one of the colours. If you choose to have Rose Quartz table arrangements then look at incorporating Serenity blue in to the wedding stationery, napkins and other accessories.
