Happy Valentine’s day to you all and a very special Valentine’s 1st Wedding Anniversary to this gorgeous pair! We had the best day celebrating with Paula & Steve at the beautiful Wasing Park last year. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their special day and provide wedding flowers for our wonderful friends.
Thank you Paula & Steve for sharing your amazing wedding photos by Joe Mallen Photography. I think this first one has to be one of my favourites!
The colour scheme for the wedding was yellow and royal blue but there were also elements of red and navy. Having discussed the colours and where they featured within the wedding we decided to keep the wedding flowers mostly cream and yellow with hints of navy and lots of greenery for a natural look.
Steve is a firefighter and they wanted to incorporate this into their wedding, including Paula’s fabulous fire engine wedding day transport! Along with fire buckets, mini fire engine favours and some great photo booth accessories.
Paula’s wedding bouquet was a textured, spring mix of ranunculus, stocks, forsythia, narcissi, daisies, eryngium thistle and alstroemeria. Their bridesmaids wore royal blue dresses and each carried smaller bouquets designed to match with the bride’s bouquet.
To be able to get the most use from the decorations throughout the day we designed two different centrepieces, 4 lanterns with flower bases and 4 fire buckets with natural arrangements. These were used to decorate the wedding ceremony room and then moved to the guest tables for the reception.
The lantern arrangements were displayed on tall plinths at the entrance and on either side of the ceremony table. And we decorated along the aisle with a mixed foliage garland and the fire bucket arrangements.
The arrangements included a similar mix of flowers to the bouquets but designed in a neutral colour scheme with subtle hints of yellow and the navy thistle.
Happy wedding anniversary Paula & Steve! xx
