It’s been a crazy few months, and sadly all the uncertainty with weddings continues to cause a lot of heartache and endless worry for many couples. For those couples who have had to postpone their weddings and for those of you who are in the very difficult position at the moment of trying to figure out if you are going to need to postpone, I know it’s been a really tough time and I honestly can’t imagine the stress it must be causing.
The recent announcement of allowing marriage ceremonies to go ahead with a maximum of 30 people attending is of course good news and a step in the right direction. But for many this isn’t what they have planned for and dreamed of for months/ years. So for now it looks like we just need to hang on a little longer and see how things go over the next few weeks and keep our fingers crossed that it won’t be too long until you can have all your loved ones share this special day with you.
If you are in the process of wedding planning and are looking for ideas for your flowers and decorations we would love to help. I am not currently offering consultations and this is likely to be the case for the next few months, but please just contact me via email and we can discuss your ideas.
I feel very fortunate that I have been able to work on some beautiful silk flower orders during lockdown for weddings hopefully taking place later this year and next year. Also, as it became harder for people to buy fresh flowers I have been creating more silk flower arrangements for home decorations, silk wedding bouquet replicas for anniversary gifts and arrangements for clients to send as gifts to spread a little flowery love. Since I have had a little more time spare we have been able to launch our brand new sister site Laurel Silk Florist showcasing our silk wedding flowers and silk flower designs for home decor and special gifts. It’s something I’ve been working on for a while and I’m really excited to continue growing this side of the business.
