Happy New Year to you all and congratulations to any lucky couples who got engaged last night!
We are really looking forward to creating lots of gorgeous designs for our 2019 couples (the diary is filling up fast so please get in touch asap if you would like to book for this year!), but before we get going on this years weddings we are taking a little look back at just a few of our favourite wedding reception flowers and decorations from 2018.
Not only have we met lots of lovely couples over the past year but we have had the pleasure of working at some of the most beautiful wedding venues in Cheshire, Manchester and Lancashire. We have decorated at luxurious country manor houses such asĀ Thornton Manor shown in the photo above and beautiful wedding barns like Sandhole Oak Barn and Heaton House Farm. We love working at so many different venues and helping our clients choose flowers and decorations to suit their style and create the perfect setting for their wedding day.
Whether you are looking for luxurious fresh flower arrangements or beautiful silk designs to hire for your wedding reception flowers we can discuss all the options with you and design pieces especially for you. Many couples are now choosing fresh flowers for their bouquets and buttonholes and hiring silk flower decorations for their wedding reception. The main decorations would usually be your table centrepieces for guest tables and an arrangement for your top table. If you have high ceilings in the reception room and particularly in a marquee we would generally recommend having at least half of your table centrepieces as tall arrangements to provide enough impact in the room.
Another way of creating impact in the room if you want to keep the arrangements lower on your guest tables is to have a more dramatic display for your top table, like the marquee wedding reception at Nunsmere Hall in the photo above. The silk flower arch and tall arrangements displayed on plinths add decoration at eye level when your guests enter the room creating the wow factor and will also provide an effective backdrop for photographs during the speeches.
For the table centrepieces in the wedding reception at Colshaw Hall shown in the photo below the couple chose elegant country garden arrangements of fresh flowers. The arrangements were displayed on a mix of high and low vases creating interest at different levels around the room.
Our artificial wedding trees and silk flower balls have been a popular choice for table centrepieces in 2018 and this is looking likely to continue in 2019. We have beautiful artificial blossom trees and wisteria trees available to hire which will really create the wow factor for your special day. The tree trunks are narrow and tall so they don’t block the view across the table when the guests are seated and provide a high impact centrepiece especially in a room with high ceilings. They can also be decorated with tea lights in hanging glass baubles for a touch of magical candle light. The wisteria trees worked perfectly in the drawing room at Peckforton Castle (shown in the photo below), reflecting the surrounding woodland in the grounds of the venue.
